Delicious cakes and pies. No sitting inside but plenty outside under umbrellas. The only problem is the birds. They want to share your food and too windy you could loose your meal. I drove away with my delicious cakes and pies and ate at a picnic area of nearby Alexandra Lake.
Great hand made pastries. Wide choice of fillings including Oven Roasted Vegetables, BBQ pulled beef and chicken and leek. No indoor seating but there are toilets an 8 picnic tables outside
Stopped by recently late in the afternoon and was still able to get hot sausage rolls and selection of cakes, glad there were choices available at that time of day.
Outside there are some picnic tables and bins, and a cheeky bird waiting for table scraps.
Gumnut patisserie has a few shops across the Southern Highlands. Couldn't visit the Bowral one since there was a long line. Checked out if there was one in Mittagong and indeed there was. Gumnut patisserie in Mittagong is a big place with friendly staff and a great selection of rolls, pies and pastries. Their Lamb and Rosemaey pie, Roast vegetable pie and Banofee( Banana pastry ) were incredibly delicious. Sausage roll and other pastries and Berry cheesecake were good too. 5 stars and absolutely recommended!!

I've had pies from some of the most well known pie shops (the slightly overated Robertson, Berry and Appin, as well as interstate) and they do not come close to the pies I have had from here. The best pies by a mile. Their sweets and pastries are just as good. I have been multiple times and have never left disappointed. The line is usually pretty long, but they get through the order pretty fast. Multiple registers help.
I travel one hour to get there but it's worth it.

Coffee and pastries excellent service. Not so my small and overcooked pastie but friends pies excellent. My opinion but go an see for yourselfs.
The best place to stop at on a thunderstormy day. There's no seats, but by the time you've finished eating everything you'd need to walk around to digest.
We had a lamb & rosemary pie, an Eden Brewery beef pie, a ham & cheese croissant, and the classic sausage roll.
The croissant was sinfully good with the cheese and bechamel, very out of this world. The sausage roll was a classic with very flakey pastry, and the pies were delicious as well.
